Meet Dr Natalie Erskine
Dr. Natalie C. Erskine grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and received a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee. After college, Dr. Erskine earned a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dr. Erskine then completed a General Practice Residency at the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Erskine prides herself in recreating the natural contours of the tooth to give patients a smile they will treasure for years to come. Providing quality dental care to her patients is Dr. Erskine’s highest priority so she continues to take educational courses to stay informed on the latest dental techniques. Dr. Erskine greatly enjoys the relationships she builds with her patients and is deeply committed to helping patients maintain happy and healthy smiles.
Dr. Erskine appreciates art in all forms, especially handmade art. When she is not practicing dentistry, Dr. Erskine is what she calls a “Professional Crafter.” She is a fan of taking local crafting classes to learn new crafting skills and employs those skills by creating crafts for special occasions. Family and friends know her as the one to call when they want to brainstorm party decoration and craft ideas.
Dr. Erskine has been married to her husband, Renaldo, since 2018. They enjoy camping, watching Formula 1 racing, traveling, and spending time with their children, Benjamin and Gabriel.

My 13 yr old was really impressed by Dr Erskine and Jeannine. She liked how she was included in her care, they asked her questions and took an interest in who she was as the patient. "Other places would only talk to you mom, it would be like I wasn't even there." This was an amazing experience for her, as soon, she will be taking more of the "drivers seat" in her own health care. I love the service provided! Excellent care received. My husband is a veteran and is very fearful of the dentist, especially extractions. He would always request general anesthesia for extractions due to his fear. The staff are always friendly at Diadem Dental. Dr. Erskine is also great! I would recommend Diadem Dental to anyone looking for a dentist in the Durham area.

I recently got an implant at Diadem Family Dental. I was absolutely afraid to get the implant, but to my surprise, I felt no pain at all. In addition to that, Dr. Erskine let me know everything that she was doing throughout the entire procedure. I got the implant at 3 and I was playing pickleball at 6.🏓😁
I highly recommend this practice.

I hate to have to give a negative review because I want to support small business, I especially wanted to support women-owned and minority businesses but I just can't here. On the positive side the dentist herself is lovely, wonderful disposition, personable, easy to talk to, and was great with my 5 year old. The front office staff was fun, positive, and upbeat without be in annoying.
But bill was horrible I paid $ 1300 for a 5 year old! Almost $ 700 was completely unexpected and 4-5 months after the service. I already wasn't feel great about that level of work being needing on a child so young. 6-7 cavities, 3 of which were needing root canals 👀👀👀 we knew one need a filling. But all of that? I don't know I just feel very very skeptical. Then months later was told the insurance company pays for some patients at their higher rate and others not but could not explain why just that we had to pay the higher cost that they originally told us months before was just not acceptable.

As I told Dr. Erskine at the end of the treatment, this was the most in-depth dental visit I’ve ever had. I’ve been looking for a new dentist for a while now, and after some deep googling I found Diadem Family Dental. I received a super thorough cleaning, and a detailed breakdown of all that appeared in my X-rays and pictures. Everyone on staff was welcoming and cordial. From the time I entered to the time I left, I felt totally at ease. Thank you to everyone at Diadem for making this transition so smooth!

I left my other dentist that I had been going to for almost 10 years because they changed owners and the practice went downhill. I was nervous about finding a good dentist but now am so glad I found Dr. Erskine and Diadem because the care I received from them was top notch. I felt comfortable immediately upon meeting the dental hygienist, and Dr. Erskine took great care of my teeth. Highly recommend and already set up an appt for my husband!

I rolled over from when Dr. Howell was there. I received MUCH better care with him and his staff.
My hygienist who had been there 10 years left after Dr. Erskine arrived. I was lied to by the office staff as to why she left.
The office person told me they were short on hygienists and were "taking what they could get". That was very obvious.
Dentist is smug. She and the hygienist will discuss your teeth in front of you and not tell you anything about your own teeth.
Dentist has the pre-package deal that includes x-rays. I purchased it. Upon my 2nd visit included in the package, I was told that I would be denied services THAT I HAD PRE-PAID FOR unless I bought additional x-rays. Is that legal?
Received my medical record. Lies are in it. Yep, I was rude when I was there. I had the worst cleaning in 40 years. My second to last cleaning I was in and out in 43 minutes which included check-in, an x-ray, a cleaning, and scheduling my next visit. Not all my teeth were even flossed. Notes say I was there an hour. Notes say I was upset because last dentist had 90 minute cleanings. A lie. No dentist has 90 minute cleanings. I mentioned the poor quality of my cleaning before I left and notes state I was extremely rude. Because it really was the worst cleaning I have ever had.
Oh, if she doesn't like you, you may receive a priority mail letter that you have been dismissed from the practice for a "breakdown in patient doctor communication". Facts. Happened to another patient who wishes to remain anonymous.
I would skip getting routine dental care if this was my only option.

I usually hate going to the dentist with a passion & she makes my visits much better. I also appreciate more than I can express her flexibility. I’m traveling out of town for months at a time & she was able to fit me in last minute when I came home. I also needed some fillings & even though it was 4pm, she went ahead and did them for me so I didn’t have to come back. It was well above and beyond & that’s hard to find these days.

Dr. Erskine and her staff are excellent! I had my first appointment today and will definitely be back. The travel time to Diadem was longer than I expected so I was seriously thinking about finding somewhere closer to home- until I met Dr. Erskine and her team. The entire experience was exactly what I was looking for! Great ambience in the waiting room, the check-in process was quick and I was seen right away. Dr. Erskine herself did my cleaning today, which is not the norm- I just lucked out. She is very gentle, skilled and informative, and it's obvious that she cares about her patients and takes time to know them. She was definitely worth the drive for me. This was my first visit with Diadem Family Dental on Mon. Aug. 1. I had been in pain all weekend and I called on Mon and was able to get an appt the same day. The staff was very nice and cordial. The exam and consultation afterwards went well and I was pleased. I will definitely be back for my future dental needs.

I absolutely love it here. I moved to the Durham area for school and truly found a hidden gem. The secretary was so helpful, kind, and made the layout of insurances and my appointments easy to understand. Dr. Erskine did a thorough cleaning and was able to fit me into her schedule last minute for an extraction in the same week. If you're looking for people who love what they do, are personable, and treat their patients with the utmost of care, choose Diadem!

I had been going to Dr. Howell since I had teeth, so when Dr. Erskine bought the practice after he retired I was nervous at first. But Dr. Erskine is THE BEST! She actually was the one to clean my teeth my first time there. She was gentle and calm and it was really nice for someone with dental anxiety. I also really enjoyed my conversation with her (when I could speak without having hands in my mouth haha!) She is lovely and I love what she did with the office. The staff is great as well. If you're looking for a dentist in Durham, especially if you are anxious at the dentist, I can't recommend Diadem enough!!!

This is the first dental practice I have visited where the lead dentist actually took the time out to talk to me on a personal level. That let's me know that she cares about who her patients are as everyday people. It was a very nice touch to go along with the thorough dental exam. During my last appointment Dr. Natalie also took the time out to explain to me what some of the medical terms meant as they were called out to the assistant. If you're looking for an experienced, qualified and personable dentist I encourage you to make the time to visit their office.

Dr. Erskine and her team of exceptional ladies are simply amazing!! I was welcomed with open arms and great conversation. The atmosphere of the office is extremely relaxing.. plus, I didn’t have a long wait before being seen. Both the Hygienist and Doctor were extremely gentle and honest when it came to my Dental needs. AMAZING!!! I’ve always grown up with a severe dislike for dentist but from the time I walked in the door, I felt comfortable and cared for. Dr. Erskine was wonderful, she took her time and constantly ensured that I was comfortable and okay throughout my cleaning. She made sure I knew everything that was going on. Her whole staff made a very strong effort to get to know as much about me while I was there, which I really enjoyed. It’s personable and it’s the same thing I do at my own job. I will continue coming here as long as the amazing staff is present. Also, Crystal their dental assistant was just as amazing as Dr. Erskine. I felt like I was at home while getting my teeth cleaned. Please call them and book your next appointment with them, I promise they won’t disappoint.
